NvSCA Board of Directors Vacancy

The Nevada School Counselor Association (NvSCA) is currently seeking candidates to fill a vacancy on the NvSCA Board of Directors. This is for a 2-year term representing Southern Nevada.

Our board members represent the diverse needs and perspectives of school counselors and students across Nevada. NvSCA is committed to cultivating leadership that reflects the diversity of our profession and communities, including diversity in race, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, nationality, ability, geographic region, and professional experience. We encourage counselors from all backgrounds and career stages to consider serving. Only counselors from Southern Nevada will be eligible to fill this vacancy.

Completing this form indicates your interest in filling the current vacancy for a 2-year term to represent Southern Nevada. If multiple members are interested in filling this position, NvSCA members will vote on who they would like the NvSCA Board of Directors to appoint to fill the vacancy. 

Deadline: The interest form must be submitted by 6pm on August 28, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria:  

At the time of completing this application and at the time of appointment, interested members must:

  • Be employed full-time for at least three years in Nevada as a school counselor, supervisor of school counselors, or counselor educator in a school counselor education program,
  • Have been a practicing school counselor for at least three years,
  • Hold a valid school counselor license by the Nevada Department of Education, and
  • Be a current NvSCA Professional Member, and
  • Must be a current ASCA Professional Member for at least one year,
  • Be willing and able to attend all monthly Board meetings and the annual retreat, serve on a committee, and facilitate sessions at the NvSCA annual conference and/or other professional development events.
