Keynote Speakers
Kristin Barnson is an accomplished education leader with over thirty years of experience, beginning her career in college admissions counseling before transitioning into school counseling. She has served as a school counselor at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, as well as in district leadership within the Clark County School District (CCSD). In retirement, Kristin continues to serve the profession as an ASCA Certified Trainer and RAMP Coach, guiding schools and districts in implementing the ASCA National Model and earning RAMP distinction. A past President of the Nevada School Counselor Association, Kristin remains a passionate advocate for school counselors and the profession, empowering others to strengthen comprehensive programs that promote student success.
Two Lenses, One Goal brings lived experience and clinical expertise together to examine how schools can build real resilience in students — sustaining affirming spaces while equipping young people to navigate the social, cultural, and psychological realities they will face beyond graduation.
Torri Shack is the CEO and Founder of Tangible Movement, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit advancing mental health awareness, suicide prevention, addiction recovery, and LGBTQIA2S+ equity. A transgender man, two-time suicide attempt survivor, recovering alcoholic, and person living with mental health conditions, Torri speaks from lived experience and evidence-informed practice — not abstraction.
Since founding Tangible Movement in 2016, Torri has delivered trainings nationwide to schools, corporations, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations, tailoring his approach to the audience: with students, the focus is resilience, agency, and psychological durability; with corporations and systems leaders, the focus is inclusion, culture, and structural accountability. His work operates on both sides of the equation — helping organizations build more inclusive cultures for the next generation, while preparing students to navigate a world where affirmation is not guaranteed, and adversity is real.
He is joined by Priscilla Otoo-Adjorlolo, LCSW, Director of Behavioral Health at The LGBTQ+ Center of Southern Nevada and a seasoned clinical leader with more than 15 years of experience across hospital and community-based behavioral health systems. Priscilla brings a clinical and operational lens — evidence-informed care, ethical decision-making, and the realities of delivering services within regulated, often imperfect systems. She helps counselors translate best practice into real-world preparation, equipping students not only to feel supported in school but to function, adapt, and thrive after graduation.
Together, they bridge lived experience and clinical expertise to equip school counselors with grounded, equity-centered strategies for building resilience while sustaining affirming environments that prepare students for life beyond graduation.
